CalOptima Health has partnered with AltaMed Health Services and the City of Santa Ana to launch a Street Medicine Program to serve people experiencing homelessness. The program delivers comprehensive health care through a mobile health unit and provides services to create a path to permanent housing. Santa Ana is the fourth city in Orange County to participate in the CalOptima Health Street Medicine Program.

Across the United States there have been many mass shootings in public places. Mt. SAC and Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center hosted a mass casualty incident simulation to give health careers students and emergency department staff an opportunity to prepare on how to respond to a crisis. Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Orange is utilizing artificial intelligence software to support radiologists in detecting tumors in their early stages. Dr. Kenneth Meng, MD, with St. Joseph Hospital Orange uses the ICAD AI algorithm which helped flag a lesion in a patient's mammogram that could have been overlooked. The artificial intelligence software developed by ICAD is able to find cancer two to three years earlier than without using the program. PVHMC offers $50 mammograms every April and October to improve access to breast cancer screening by removing the financial barrier. Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) offered $50 mammograms without a physician order or proof of insurance during Breast Cancer Awareness Month for women who met specific requirements. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation , 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD), one of the nation’s leading visual and applied arts colleges, broke ground on its first phase of campus consolidation to build a two-story 22,000 sq. ft Innovation Center, which will serve as the centerpiece of the new campus. During the event, LCAD also introduced the donor, who had remained anonymous, and helped make the major development possible. The construction is anticipated to be completed by 2028. The groundbreaking event featured a live exhibition space with artwork from students, live music, and large screens with presentations of what the new campus will look like. As the summer heat hits Southern California, experts at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) want to warn parents to never leave their children alone in hot cars, as heat stroke is the leading cause of non-crash, vehicle-related deaths in children under 15-years-old. According to the National Safety Council, 14 hot car deaths have been reported in 2025. As heat-related deaths are 100% preventable, CHOC community health educators and pediatricians demonstrated strategies to help parents remember to take their children out of the car.
