17 Jan This Year’s Flu Strain is Hitting Harder Than Ever at Torrance Memorial

This year’s flu season is adding up to be one of the worst in recent years. According to the CDC, the flu has become widespread in 36 states across the nation. This year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that vaccines have only been 10 percent effective. Staff at Torrance Memorial Medical Center have worked long hours since December to care for these sick patients, according to Dr. James McKinnell.
