27 Feb Seniors Celebrate Black History Month and Community Member’s 104th Birthday at AltaMed

To celebrate Black History Month, AltaMed Health Services’ Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) hosted an event at its Lynwood center on Friday, Feb. 23 to honor the achievements by African Americans. The celebration began with an opening prayer from Pastor Cornelius Daughtery, who is also a PACE program participant. The event also screened a video of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and then PACE program participants sang and recited poetry to commemorate Black History Month.

PACE participants also celebrated the 104th birthday of their peer, Annie Rogers. Rogers’ family was present for the milestone occasion.
